For every restaurant, big and small, food presentation is considered a top priority. Whether it’s a hand-tossed Caesar salad or a flame-grilled filet mignon, each dish must not only be delicious but perhaps more importantly, pleasing to the eye as well.
With many restaurants forced to close their doors during the pandemic, the restaurant scene in NYC was a former shell of what it once was. But with COVID-19 receding, restaurants are finally opening up again and using their websites to attract more attention. We at Jeffrey Rosenberg Photography have years of experience in making sure your food looks the best it can be!
The competition this Summer is fierce, but with some of these tips and tricks, anyone can make their restaurant into the spot to hit this Summer season.
Here are some tips to make your dishes shine!
-
Consistency:
Nothing is worse than buying something and getting something that looks completely different. Whether it’s a handbag or a hamburger, people expect to receive what they paid for, exactly how they saw it. When putting photos of dishes on your restaurant’s site, make sure that the dish appears like it would for someone who ordered it on a normal day. People expect to receive what they see.

Pops of color:
Make your photos interesting! Muted color schemes and boring presentations don’t bring customers from your website to the door! Make sure you have contrasting colors on the plate (green and purple work great for this). Maybe even switch up the color of the plates or the background to make your food look as enticing as possible. (Always remember lighting is key!) We at Jeffrey Rosenberg Photography are masters of the art of food photography and are ready to help!

Update often:
Every successful restaurant does whatever it takes to get customers in the door, and usually, that is done through its website. Promotions, new menus, and specials are posted on it to entice potential customers to come and have an experience. Without regular updates, everything from the decor to the food becomes stale and uninteresting. With new photos and semi-regular updates, customers will want to come back time and time again.
